Using her own ingenuity she finds food for her family in the working prison farm in which many starve and few emerge whole. Through all the ugliness, Chanbopha sees glimpses of beauty, and this allows nothing to deter her from fighting for her dream of taking her mother and siblings to a life of freedom.
Author Biography
Vancouver Island native Jil Plummer has trained horses in England, acted off-Broadway in New York City, worked on a banana plantation in Jamaica, and coordinated a clown show on ABC in Hollywood. While married to a photojournalist she traveled on many assignments throughout the world. She has also taught English as a second language. Jil has published two other books (Caravan to Armageddon and Amber Dust) and has many more stories to tell.
