Pearl Bancroft was born in Illinois' beautiful Fox River Valley. She was reared in a Christian home, but being an "only child," was lonely. Books became her friends. Marriage to her best friend, Russ, was the highlight of her life, along withs God's great blessing of two children, Kathy and Daniel. They lived in their home in Illinois until retirement, then they were drawn to the North Carolina mountains.
