The medical specialty that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases is known as ophthalmology. The surgical sub-specialty within this field is known as ophthalmic surgery. It involves the surgical procedures performed on the eyes or its surrounding structures to correct various eye conditions and improve visual function.
