Author Biography

NORM MAXWELL is an American contemporary artist living and working in Los Angeles. The Philadelphia native began his career writing on walls in the late 70s and is known as one of the first artist to merge graffiti with the classical aesthetics of fine art. His work is a commentary on social issues concerning race, politics, and urban life. Maxwell's signature style merges traditional techniques with his graffiti-esque aesthetic to create a rich and diverse visual language.
