In the mid-1700s, Bradford and Warner were tiny settlements of log dwellings that emerged from the wilderness in tandem. A gunshot fired in Bradford would resound in the Mink Hills and call neighbors to help in times of need. This blend of independence and reliance built these quintessential communities into what they are today. Lake Massesecum lies near the border of these two towns, and its runoff helps form the Warner River, which served as a vital industrial and recreational link between the two communities. At 2,937 feet, Mount Kearsarge reigns supreme above Bradford and Warner, offering unobstructed views for many miles.
