PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

by Jason S. Price (Author)

These poems celebrate the anniversary of Belize's independence. However, the themes of the poems are universal. The poems speak of a people struggling to find their place and purpose in the global community. Like most developing nations, Belize suffers from political corruption, moral poverty, nihilism, and technological disenfranchisement. Despite all the difficulties, lack of resources, and murders; the ordinary person, the individual life, struggles forward searching blindly for a national purpose, full of hope. And so Belize, by its own history and composition, is a wonderful research climate for revolutions to occur. Revolutions of the human heart and mind that can foster the creation of a different kind of community: Communities for the future wherein humans become witness to love, live lives that express each individual's humanity, which is one's individual gift or talent, and in harmony with nature.
