It shows how an application of scientific studies and principles can help trumpeters improve their performance craft. Written with musicians in mind, the science is presented with clarity and simplicity, using many examples and connections to the everyday processes that trumpeters will be familiar with.
Author Biography
Ben is a trumpeter and teacher in the St. Louis area. Originally from Wisconsin, he received his bachelor's degrees in trumpet performance and music education from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. He received his master's degree in trumpet performance from the University of Southern Illinois Edwardsville. He is a member of the Air Force bands, teaches the trumpet studio at McKendree University, and is a Getzen Artist. He enjoys performing in classical as well as commercial settings, and is a frequent guest artist and clinician.
