When I was growing up, I wanted to be funny and make people laugh. This was the focus of my attention in Church Sunday mornings. I watched my dad fall asleep as the Priest droned on and on about the Bible, ignoring the heads bobbing in front of him. I wanted him to make the bible funny and come alive in our lives. Oblivious to Church Law, I decided I would become a funny priest and make people laugh. That never happened but scripture comes alive in my very ordinary life and I am funny. Just ask my children. In the middle of our homeschooling day one of my children asked, "Mom, did you go to school to be funny or were you born that way?" I knew this was my only chance to endorse education, so I lied. With my most serious mom face, I said. "Of course I went to school to be this funny. Even my husband thinks I am funny. Most importantly, God thinks I am funny. He gave me the gift of humor. I hope you take a few minutes and come laugh with me, "Cindy Style."
