Saving Li'l Smokey details the exciting rescue of a tiny orphaned black bear cub. The eight pound cub was separated from his mother during the historic 2008 lightning-triggered forest fires in Northern California. The story is based on Forester and Firefighter Adam Deem's first-hand account of the amazing encounter and its aftermath. Just as Adam courageously rescued the injured little bear later named Li'l Smokey, Li'l Smokey will undoubtedly capture your heart. An inspiring and beautifully illustrated book for all ages.
