When critic P.T. Grumbles is finishing up interviews for his book about the most famous people in the world, he realizes he has forgotten to include Santa Claus, the legend himself. Since the best place for an exclusive with Santa would be in the critic's own home, on Christmas Eve, Grumbles, who does not celebrate Christmas, decides nevertheless to lure him in by transforming his house into a Santa-welcoming home - with lights, wreaths, garlands, a Christmas tree, and even his very own stocking.
The plan works. Santa pays him a visit on Christmas Eve and agrees to an interview, but only in the sleigh, as they fly through the moonlit sky. And, so begins a long, long night with many questions posed and even more answered. A life-changing journey for P.T. Grumbles.
