Product Description

by Jon Michael Miller (Author)

Two compelling stories of life on fabulous Negril Beach--"Ashanti" and "The Soubre' Problem." If you've been there, you'll recognize some typical characters. If you've not, you'll want to go. These stories present a unique perspective on the enigmatic island of Jamaica.

Author Biography

Jon Michael Miller was born and raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He spent seventeen years at the Pennsylvania State University where he earned four degrees, taught English classes and worked on staff. He also taught English at the Ohio State University and Saint Petersburg College. For twelve years he was a teacher of Transcendental Meditation, a program founded and led by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and the subject of his memoir--"Maharishi, TM, Mallory & Me." He has also written novels and stories, several set in Jamaica, which he regards as his second home: www.JonMichaelMiller.com. During his years in Florida as a teacher of English as a Second Language, he developed successful instructional materials using American movies as a learning base. These study packets are now available for teachers and study-at-home students in the series "English in Films." Miller continues his on-line English consulting business--www.englishinflorida.com--through which he works with international executives, students, and travelers. He lives in Saint Petersburg, Florida, where he teaches and writes.
