When Rindala's beloved Lebanon is seized in the clutches of war, she, along with her family, move to Canada to escape what would surely be death as a victim of war. Rindala never knew her mother when she lived in her hometown; she only saw her in photographs here and there in her house - in photo frames on the wall or in one of the boxes as their lives were being packed into cartons.
