Product Description

by Daniel L. Whitehurst (Author)

A step by step guide for anyone wanting to become a working actor.

Author Biography

About the Author My name is Daniel Whitehurst and ever since I was three I knew I wanted to be an entertainer. I started my acting career in a drama class in my senior year at Walker High School in Atlanta. I made my first Debut in the Spring of 85 in the role of Assagi in a production called Raisin in the Sun. My teacher advised that I go to college and major in theatre, but I couldn't afford college, so I joined the Navy instead. Five years later I moved to Orlando, and took my teachers advice. I went to college where I studied music, film and theatre, but that's not the knowledge that got me the information I penned in this book. Instead I had the fortunate luck of moving next door to a stage mom whose sons were working actors getting paid to do commercials. She shared with me her knowledge and in January of 2000 I signed with Central Florida Talent and later with Azuree Talent who gave me my first shot to work as a regular extra in the television series Sheena and an episode of Nickelodeon's Taina. I later trained under Shauna Bartel, a name synonymous in the Orlando acting community, and since then have worked in several commercials and one feature film. I currently work and live in the Orlando Florida.
