Author Biography

P. Shridhar Menon was born on September 24, 1943, in a sleepy village called Cheruthuruthy in the Thrissur district in Kerala, renowned for the Kathakali and Bharatnatyam University. Menon did his graduation in Mangalore and joined the railways at the age of twenty. After a three-year-stint here, he became the Registrar of an arts, science and commerce college in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

An active Rotarian, Menon was responsible for founding a Rotary chapter in his village in 1977. As its President, Secretary and Director, he worked selflessly. Well-known cricketer-commentator, the late Vijay Merchant, was his guide and colleague at the Rotary chapter.

Menon married Thangamani in 1968. She ran a chain of commercial education institutes for rural students. She is Menon's pillar of support in all his endeavors.

Menon retired from college in 2001, after thirty-five years of service. He is now a consultant for new colleges. Menon has a son and a daughter, who are both high-profile bankers.
