When Lo finds evidence at the scene suggesting murder, his trusted partner, Barbara Jean "BJ" Reeves, argues that the blast is just an accident. He refuses to cave and his gut says BJ is hiding something.

Lo learns that a serial killer and her flunkies are targeting transgender women. When the victim of the blast turns out to be a trans woman, he's suddenly up against killers who possess his prejudice. His brother's ghost rips into his conscience.

While stalking the killer, Lo's keen intuition is pitted against 21st century tech and an off-the-grid woman's order protected by the FBI.

Author Biography

Gregory Montoya is a therapist with a master's degree in social work from UCLA. In a profession rooted in social justice, he has borne witness to the cost of injustice paid by the innocent.

His short-short story about a schizophrenic, "The Coat," was published in the zine, Up Dare, and as a guest writer for the Hispanic Link, he wrote a column entitled, "The Unwelcomed Vet."

He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and dedicates his free time to writing.
