The cumulative effort describes and analyzes what Texas history is and how it got that way.
Author Biography
WALTER L. BUENGER is professor and chair of the department of history at Texas A&M University in College Station. He is a former president of the Texas State Historical Association. ROBERT A. CALVERT was a professor of history at Texas A&M University and a former president of the Texas State Historical Association.
