Named more than 200 years ago for heroic Revolutionary War captain John Stokes, Stokes County, North Carolina, is an area rich in history, Southern charm, and natural beauty. Primarily an agricultural community, Stokes County's farming roots date back hundreds of years to the early generations of settlers. The county is beautifully situated on the edge of the Piedmont Foothills, with the breathtaking Sauratown Mountains resting entirely within its border. Stokes County boasts a multi-cultural heritage, consisting of British, German, Scotch Irish, and Welsh nationalities.
