Steps to Technical Development for Drummers is a text to develop hand and foot ability by playing sticking patterns that are practical and easily applied to drum set, rudimental snare drum and classical playing. This book can be used by students who have a basic knowledge of rhythmic theory.

Author Biography

Glenn Weber has been teaching drums and percussion for over forty five years. In that time he has been on the faculty of the Delbarton School in Morristown NJ, Fairleigh Dickinson University, William Paterson University and Hillside Elementary School in Montclair NJ. He is currently the Instructor of Percussion at Seton Hall University and teaches at the New Jersey School of Percussion, which he founded over thirty years ago. He developed a teaching method over many years which covers Music Theory, Technique and Performance. He teaches and plays drum set, rudimental, orchestral, hand drums and accessory instruments. His Jr. High and High School students have participated in Regional and All-State Bands and Orchestras for many years. He has taught students from the United States, South America, Central America, Asia, Africa, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Jamaica, Europe and the United Kingdom. Former students are successfully involved in the music industry, employed with Broadway Shows, Disney World, Symphony Orchestras, touring and recording, Pop and Rock groups, music production and teaching. As a performer he has worked with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Bobby Hackett, the New Jersey Pops Orchestra, the Joe Carson Big Band, the Garden State Concert Band, LaBamba and the Hubcaps, The North Jersey Philharmonic Orchestra, The Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Cafe con Leche Latin Jazz Ensemble, and numerous club date and show bands. He led his own Jazz group for many years and has performed on numerous recordings with various artists, and is a founding member of the Japanese Taiko group, TaikoZoku (since 2004). He served as President of the New Jersey State Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society for over ten years.
