Written in the style of modern haiku, and using poetic sound devices such as onomatopoeia, alliteration, assonance, and consonance, this story could be included in preschool to third-grade literacy curriculum or inspire music, art, or creative writing.Common colors are woven into the story with the phrases: "spring green, brown nest, blue wing, blackberries, white clouds, purple boots, yellow chalk, gold wreaths, orange fox, pink nose, and red scarf," providing an opportunity to reinforce the concept of colors, along with the concept of seasons.
