With a GDP that just reached $2.6 trillion, India is poised to become the world's third largest economy in less than a decade. Arvind Panagariya is Professor of Economics and the Jagdish Bhagwati Professor of Indian Political Economy at Columbia University. He formerly served as the first Vice Chairman of the NITI Aayog, the government of India in the rank of a cabinet minister; as Chief Economist of the Asian Development Bank; and as India's Sherpa for the G20 Summits. Panagariya is the author of over fifteen books including India: The Emerging Giant and Free Trade and Prosperity.
