'Nature Watch' is not just another collection of photographs of animals, birds and insects. Jayaprakash, has no doubt shared his best of photography here, more than that, what makes it an interesting read is the way he has shared his candid experiences and thoughts and the story attached with every photograph. Right away, we will realise how complex interactions exist between different life-forms on Earth, irrespective of their shape and size. There exists a precarious balance in the ecosystem and the food chains we witness today. It's the result of millions of years of evolution which in turn has accentuated the biodiversity along the way. Even if we remove a single rung from this food chain ladder, it will adversely impact and jeopardise the livelihood of many life-forms.
'Nature watch' is a cross-sectional, snapshot record of the status of many species of animals around us. There is discussion about the uncertain future of some of these, at the same time, there is some hope with some species wherein we have noticed a rise in their numbers and improved habitats evolving. After reading this, the way we see a Kingfisher or Robin at one end and a Snail or a Slug at the other end, would not be any different. All these life-forms have their own crucial role to play in the bigger scheme of the biosphere.
