Ojibwe Legends were passed down through generations, usually told by Ojibwe Elders (Gitchi-Anishinaabe) around the fire during the long Winter (Biboon) seasons.

Each generation retold the stories with their general interpretation; all lead back to the seven grandfather teachings of respect, honesty, truth, humility, courage, wisdom and love.
