Matt wants to walk in the footsteps of his soccer idol, Lionel Messi, getting muddy on the soccer field. But there is his mom and her ridiculous war on dirt. He is done with being her gorgeous little boy, packaged in the neatest outfit the school has ever seen. What is Matt going to do? He has a brilliant idea, a plan of dirt, grime, goo, and slime. But will his perfect revenge plan work and get everyone off his back or will it backfire?
Matt's quirky and chaotic attempts of creating messiness for his own advantage and his seemingly fool-proof plans go pear-shaped spectacularly. But he learns to understand peer pressure and how to stand up to it. Soccer, his friends, and his dog are an essential part of the story.
