In November 2021, Castleberry lost her mother and in June 2022, her husband of 31 years unexpectedly died. Suddenly, she was alone having lost the two people in her life who made her feel secure. Having kept a prayer journal for almost 40 years, Castleberry immediately began to share her pain and questions with God. She wrestled with the grief through writing and these writings are the basis for the book. Castleberry honestly and uncompromisingly charts the grief journey and describes the perils and the joys on the many roads she travels to reach the final road, "the road to understanding". Using Biblical scriptures and past experiences as well as the words and messages of trusted Christian authors, Castleberry weaves a message of hope and faith in a loving God who walks with us through our suffering to fulfill His promise of an abundant life where we find His purpose for us.
