One theme is evident - the ebb and flow of daily life speaks of the eventuality of older parts of a city. Journeying by foot, Smith photographs the forgotten and gives voice to their silent stories. In a rapidly modernized city like Singapore, the relentless progress of life spares none. Yet, there remain parts of the city that stayed behind the curtains, watching the shiny skyscrapers go up, while staying silently and contentedly true to themselves.
