Near the northern end of the Brahmaputra River lies Assam, one of the world’s great tea-growing regions. Our Assam Broken Orange Pekoe Tea captures the strength and character this area is known for—rich, malty, and deeply satisfying in the cup.
Broken Orange Pekoe refers to smaller leaf pieces with a generous amount of golden tips, the part of the leaf where much of the flavor resides. When brewed, these “tippy” leaves produce a full-bodied liquor with excellent body and strength, making this an ideal choice for a classic breakfast tea or any time you want a bold, energizing cup.
This gourmet Assam is especially delicious with milk, which enhances its natural sweetness and brings out notes of malt, toasted grain, and subtle caramel. It also holds up well to a touch of sugar or honey for those who prefer a softer finish.
How to brew
- Add 1–2 teaspoons of loose leaf per cup (240 ml) of freshly boiled water.
- Steep for 3–5 minutes, depending on desired strength.
- Enjoy straight for a brisk cup, or add milk and sweetener for a traditional breakfast-style brew.
