by Amy Delabruere (Author)
A Play of Light and Shadow is a compilation of vivid, introspective poems which focus on the effect of the world on the individual. Amy DeLaBruere finds a balance amidst contrasting topics of nature, crisis, music, politics, and tragedy. Her work exemplifies a beautiful simplicity in these complex qualities of life, leaving the reader questioning life's most raw and basic principles - love, death, desire, authority. Her inspiration is drawn from many areas of her life, as depicted in a variety of poetic forms in this manifestation of transcendent emotion. From the idyllic beauty of her northern Vermont home, to her travels across the globe, to her deep concerns about the planet and the current events in our world, DeLaBruere seeks out aspects of our lives that deserve to be written. Through evocative language and strong emotion, DeLaBruere shares her person-al catharsis with her audience.
