Product Description

by Hamaria Crockett (Author), Demoncheri Harris (Author)

Two Faces: Health and Identity, is a Black woman's guide to health and authenticity. Throughout history, women have been pressured to subject themselves to a false standard that has been defined and reinforced by the predominant culture. Traditionally, Black women have been viewed in a number of contradictory ways. We know that women and minorities suffer disadvantages in life due to negative stereotypes, lower expectations, stigma, and discrimination. These obstacles have greatly impacted aspects of their identity and self-image. The importance of having and keeping a healthy life is not always reinforced in our environment. However, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is needed to achieve realistic personal goals. Dr. Harris and Dr. Crockett bring you an inspirational book from the heart of two friends that are both advocates for inspiring & supporting women from all spectrums of life. This book provides you with their expert guidance, based on validated research and an artful application of human service principles, to help you view the facts towards making a positive change.
