Pat Manley is an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor, a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation and a member of the Yachting Journalists Association. He has written several books on boat maintenance and is a regular contributor to Practical Boat Owner magazine. Barrie Smith is an RYA Yachtmaster who has skippered or crewed on numerous yacht delivery trips and long-distance races.
