Based on the life of photographer Samuel Bourne who followed his dream to become a landscape photographer working in India from 1863 to 1870. He risked life and limb to photograph in the Himalayas, Kashmir and all over the Indian sub-continent. His masterful work is considered the finest photography of the 19th century. With partner Charles Shepherd they formed the studio Bourne & Shepherd which lasted for more than 150 years.
Author Biography
This is Anthony Davis' third historical biographical work. The first book King of Diamonds - The life of Barney Barnato, the story of the man who made a huge fortune in the diamond and gold rush of the late 19th century. The second book, Woolf Barnato, Man About Town is about Barney Barnato's youngest son who inherited a fortune at the age of two. He fought in both the first and second world wars. Woolf was a famous racing driver who raced Bentley cars which he financed when the company looked like it would go bankrupt.
