This monograph considers major psychological aspects of sporting activities of goalkeepers from professional soccer teams. Four sets of issues concerning psychological aspects of the performance of professional functions by goalkeepers are analyzed, specifically: psychology of behavior in team and conducting the preparation and games; regulation of mental conditions; increasing the motivation for perfection of a sport mastery and achieving good results in soccer; forming a personal image. The materials are designed for coaches working with goalkeepers in professional soccer teams and youth soccer.

Author Biography

Chirva Boris Grigorievich Ph.D. in Physical Education, obtains coaching license grade A, leading Russian soccer strategist. He was born in 1959 and lives in Moscow, Russia. Previously he was a player of professional football teams in First and Second division of USSR championship. After ending his football career he worked as a youth teams coach for eight years and cultivated a player - champion of USSR Under-16-17. In 1992-93 he was educating in Russian Higher coaching school. Thereafter he began to work on scientific-methods. He passed Ph. D. defense on young footballers cultivation in 1997, and defended doctoral dissertation about Basic and professional technical and tactical training of footballers in 2008. During 1999-2013 he was scientific consultant on training methods and worked as a coach in Russian Premier-league clubs. From 2006 till 2008 he worked in Abramovich's National academy of football foundation, where were engaged in professional development of Russian youth coaches and methodological support of youth football schools and academies. At the moment he is an educator in Russian coaching license courses in grades B, A and PRO. Currently he has published 150 scientific-methods works on various issues of professional and young footballers training, including 20 monographs, and also he is an author of two training films about footballers training. The main direction of his creative activity today is the continuation of work on creation of Theory and methods of world football in 5 sections: training of football technique, preparation and play of professional teams, preparation and play of goalkeepers, football strategy and tactic, cultivation of young footballers.
