Product Description
by C. L. Fontaine (Author), Dwight Nacaytuna (Illustrator)
Samuel's dad has PTSD, and Samuel tries very hard to please his dad and maybe make him better. His mother does her best to explain things to Samuel, but only after meeting a newfound friend does Samuel begin to understand some important things about PTSD and his dad.
Author Biography
C. Fontaine was a professional educator for over forty years and is also a mom of a son with PTSD. In her endeavor to better understand she did extensive research on PTSD. Later, she took on a new role as a volunteer administrator for several on line web sites, including PTSD Projects Caregiver Group and Love Our Vets-PTSD Family Support. She soon recognized the challenge of explaining PTSD to young children and the necessity for a tool to help parents and educators to do so. Using her knowledge of young children combined with that of PTSD, she created Sam's Story; a book to help adults explain to children that PSTD is not their fault and that they are loved.
