Author Biography
DEANNE SMITH retired from teaching high school English five years ago and now dedicates her time to her other passions: writing, visiting friends and family, and traveling. Deanne's first novel, The Change is a Christian historical fiction novel based on tragic events that happened in her hometown in the early 1900s. Because writing, publishing, and especially discussing The Change with its readers was so enjoyable to her, she wrote Promises To Grace. When she finished it, she realized the characters have much more to tell, and so she looks forward to writing a series titled "Welcome Home" featuring them. Hopefully, you will enjoy reading the entire series. A lifetime of living in rural communities on the plains and badlands of Eastern Montana, North Dakota, and Wyoming and hearing pioneer stories - most people in the Northern Plains know the story of their ancestors who settled here - have given Deanne beautiful yet rugged settings and characters who value faith, a good day's work, and each other. When she is not writing, Deanne treasures any time she and her husband Larry can be together with their two dogs traveling, going for walks, or just being together at home.
