Author Biography

Lt. Colonel Craig Roberts is a 27 year veteran police officer of the Tulsa, Oklahoma police department, now retired. While an officer he served in the patrol division, bomb squad, tactical squad (SWAT team) as a sniper, fugitive warrants squad, police academy instructor, and police helicopter pilot. He was the only Tulsa police department officer assigned to work with the FBI on the Oklahoma City bombing. He retired from Tulsa PD in 1996. He is a U.S. Marine Vietnam veteran where he served with the the 9th Marines as an infantryman and sniper. Among many decorations he was awarded the Purple Heart, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, and Presidential Unit Citation. After being discharged from the Marines for wounds suffered in Vietnam he later enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard in an infantry Scout Platoon. After being promoted to staff sergeant he attended Officer Candidate School and graduated as a second lieutenant in 1975. He continued to serve in various capacities from platoon leader to company commander until 1982 when he transferred to the Army Reserve and worked in the intelligence field. He retired after 30 years total service in 1999. He is currently an NRA certified rifle, pistol, and shotgun instructor and also teaches the Oklahoma Handgun license classes and police and military sniper classes. He operates his own range in northeastern Oklahoma. He is rated an Expert Marksman with pistol, rifle, and various military arms. He is also a Master qualified pistol shot with the Oklahoma Sheriff's and Peace Officer's Association and a one-time member of the Governor's Twenty pistol team-consisting of the top twenty National Guard pistol shooters in the state. He is the author of over a dozen books including "Kill Zone-A Sniper Looks at Dealey Plaza," "The Medusa File-Crimes and Coverups of the U.S. Government," "JFK: The Dead Witnesses," and "The Medusa File II-The Politics of Terrorism and the Oklahoma City Bombing."
