Author Biography
Bobby Jones finds inspiration from his surrounding environment in New Mexico to create his multimedia works of art. The skies of New Mexico influence this artist's work from sunrise to sunset. He also brings culture into his works of art with geometric and abstract designs. Jones found his inspiration by looking for everyday life designs of New Mexico like Native American pottery patterns, the landscaping, the clouds, Ferde Grofe's Grand Canyon Suite or Aaron Copland's musical compositions. This artist creates his artistic endeavors by using painting, drawing, and assemblage techniques in his artwork. He loves using bright colors and patterns in each image. This Albuquerque artist has kept these images alive in his mind since his childhood when visiting his maternal grandmother in Lubbock, Texas. Jones recalls traveling by airplane that the artist would sit in the window seat and look out across the skies of The Texas Great South Plains. Jones remembers seeing the different patterns and colors of the earth's contours and textures of the different cultivations of agriculture surrounding The Lubbock International Airport.
