Author Biography

Growing up in the great city of Detroit Michigan, I always enjoyed reading and visiting the library on the weekends. I spent countless hours there reading, searching and imagining what it would be like to write my own book. I was hooked on mysteries and love stories. I believe that books opens the mind to endless and wonderful possibilities. There were three things I wanting out of life, a family, to write and bake. Sometime during my middle school years, I wrote a story. My maternal beautiful and kind grandmother {Elizabeth Alexander}, took my handwritten manuscript and typed it. She made copies and I tried to get some of my friends to act out the story in her basement. I can't recall the name of the book but I remember two things about it. One, I finished the book on a Saturday night, while visiting my loving and beautiful fraternal grandmother {Elizabeth Braswell}, and two, it ended with a visit to an expensive jewelry store. Writing that story ignited my dreams to become an author. I'm blessed with a wonderful supportive husband and four fantastic children who inspire me through their smiles and joyous laughter. In my journey as an author, I am dedicated to learning more about this wonderful craft. For as long as God allows me to, I plan to write books, screen plays and maybe one day, a television show. As for my passion to bake, I make the best chocolate chip cookies with or without walnuts. I have strong faith in God and believe in his power and will. Confess your dreams, write them out and make them plain to see. Each day is a gift, open it with appreciation.
