Author Biography

Tom O'Connell, has a PhD in Political Sociology from the Union Institute (Cincinnati, Ohio) and is a Professor Emeritus in Political Studies at Metropolitan State University (St. Paul, Minnesota) where he taught courses in politics, urban studies, community organizing, and leadership. O'Connell brings a lifetime of experience in community leadership as an active participant in citizen organizations working on issues from affordable housing to workers' rights; climate change to racial equality.
