Product Description
by Katherine Winfield (Author)
Aurora "Rory" June Jensen appears to have the perfect life, a successful husband, a talented daughter, a beautiful home in a nice neighborhood in Phoenix. But at the age of 42, the fa ade that she has masterfully created begins to crack. With her daughter away at graduate school, she realizes her marriage is in shambles and feels as if life has passed her by.
For the past 24 years she spent her time making sure others were happy, doing what others wanted. Now, thinking she needs to be alone to discover what it is that she wants, she finds herself seated in a diner not far from home with her belongings packed in the back of her 1965 Ford Falcon, a gift from her brother, Nick, wondering if she has the courage to continue.
But as she weaves her way along her journey, hoping to recapture the dreams she once had, she soon realizes her marriage wasn't her only problem. Until she can face the buried demons of her past she will never be free.
Set against the rugged untamed beauty of Northern California to the tranquil waters of the Carolinas, her journey is filled with unique and diverse characters; some with secrets of their own. But it isn't until Rory is faced with a life or death situation that her true strength is eventually awakened.
Bending Toward the Light is a poignant tale that speaks to all women whose voices have been silenced by circumstance, telling them it's never too late to make a change and that second chances are only a step away.
