Author Biography
Jamie Arindaeng is an artist, entrepreneur and the author of 101 tips for the on-set extra. Since she was young, Jamie always had a dream of being in commercials. It was one thing to create them for her business clients- through her company- visual impact marketing, but another to actually book a local or national commercial for herself. In 2008 as the film industry was becoming more prevalent in Michigan, Jamie decided to utilize her creative side and learn as much as she could about the business. She spends all her free time taking acting classes, networking and auditioning as much as possible. She is thrilled to be signed with two major Detroit talent agencies. To date, Jamie has been cast as a featured extra in many major films, is an experienced stand-in and has had a leading role and several supporting. She has also worked with the production team on "Naked Angel" as their Art Director, Marketer and was chosen for the role of Susan. One of her favorite moments to date is being cast for the wife in the Grace Centers of Hopes commercial. Jamie doesn't claim to be an expert in the film industry, and she knows that all sets are not created equal. This book was simply written out of a love to help others. It should be used as a guide to get you familiar with terms and protocol on must standard film sets.
