This is a fundamental hardware characteristic of the R3, not a warranty restriction. LPDDR4 soldered RAM is standard on mini PCs in this form factor because it allows a smaller PCB, lower power consumption, and better signal integrity compared to socketed RAM. You must select the correct RAM tier at the time of purchase: 8GB for light single-user computing or 16GB for multitasking, content creation, and heavier workloads. If you anticipate needing more than 16GB of RAM in the future, this product is not the right choice.

How many monitors can the R3 support and at what resolution?
The Firebat R3 supports dual monitor output simultaneously via HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4. HDMI 2.0 supports up to 4K (3840×2160) at 60Hz. DisplayPort 1.4 supports up to 4K at 120Hz or 8K at 60Hz. You can run two 4K monitors simultaneously - one on HDMI and one on DP - for a high-resolution dual-monitor productivity workstation. Note that dual 4K output at high refresh rates requires GPU bandwidth from the AMD Radeon integrated graphics, which is shared with system RAM. For the best dual-monitor experience, use the 16GB RAM configuration to ensure adequate memory bandwidth for both displays plus active applications.

What is the second M.2 slot and how do I add more storage?
The R3 ships with one M.2 SSD installed in the primary slot (256GB or 512GB depending on your configuration). The second M.2 slot is empty and physically accessible inside the unit for user storage expansion. It supports standard M.2 2280 form factor drives. One slot is SATA and one is NVMe - verify which slot is which in the Firebat R3 documentation before purchasing an expansion drive to ensure compatibility. For maximum speed, install an NVMe PCIe SSD in the NVMe slot. SATA M.2 SSDs are slower but more affordable and work in the SATA slot. Total expandable storage capacity is up to 2TB across both slots. Adding a second drive does not require reinstalling Windows - the new drive appears as an additional volume in Windows Disk Management.

How does the Ryzen 7 7730U compare to entry-level Intel mini PC processors?
The AMD Ryzen 7 7730U with 8 cores, 16 threads, and a 4.5GHz boost clock significantly outperforms common entry-level Intel mini PC processors in multi-threaded workloads. The CINEBENCH R23 multi-core score of approximately 10,792 (factory tested) places it well above Intel N100, N150, N200, and similar low-power Intel N-series chips commonly found in budget mini PCs (which typically score 2,000-4,500 in multi-core). For single-threaded tasks (web browsing, office), the gap narrows, but for sustained multi-core work - video encoding, compiling, running multiple applications simultaneously - the 7730U's 8 cores provide a categorical performance advantage. If you're comparing the R3 to a mini PC with an Intel N100 or N150, the Ryzen 7 7730U configuration offers substantially more headroom for demanding workloads.

Is the R3 suitable as a home theater PC (HTPC) or living room media center?
Yes - the Firebat R3 is well-suited for HTPC use. The HDMI 2.0 output connects directly to a 4K TV; AMD Radeon integrated graphics handles hardware-accelerated 4K video playback (H.264, H.265/HEVC, AV1) efficiently without encoding or frame drops. The under-35dB noise level means the fan is inaudible from normal viewing distances in a living room environment. The VESA mount allows the R3 to be mounted directly behind a VESA-compatible TV, completely hiding it from view. Bluetooth 5.2 pairs with wireless keyboards, mice, and remote controls. The Ryzen 3 4300U or Ryzen 5 7430U configurations are sufficient for pure HTPC use - the Ryzen 7 7730U is recommended only if you also plan to use it as a productivity workstation alongside media center duties.

Does the R3 come with Windows 11 and is it a full license?
Yes - the Firebat R3 ships with Windows 11 pre-installed. This is a full OEM Windows 11 license tied to the device's hardware, which means it activates automatically when connected to the internet and does not require a separate product key entry. It is compatible with all standard Windows software including Microsoft Office (purchased separately or via Microsoft 365), browsers, productivity tools, and developer applications. Windows 11 Home is the standard edition for consumer mini PCs in this category. The system language can be changed in Windows Settings if you prefer a language other than the default. Note that some Windows 11 features (e.g., TPM 2.0-dependent security features) depend on hardware support - verify specific feature requirements with Firebat if these are critical to your use case.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0728/0954/5772/files/S1c8e2389dbf240868b1c27125ca3c888O.webp?v=1788895410
