### Author Biography

Jack London (1876-1916) was a prolific American novelist and short story writer. His most notable works include _White Fang_, _The Call of the Wild_, and _The Sea-Wolf._ He was born in San Francisco, California.

Ed Young is the illustrator of more than eighty books for children, seventeen of which he has also written. Most notably, he is the Caldecott Medalist for _Lon Po Po_ and the Caldecott Honor recipient for both _The Emperor and the Kite_ and _Seven Blind Mice._ Young lives in Westchester County, New York.
