### Author Biography

**LORI JOY SMITH** is an illustrator and fine artist whose work has been exhibited in galleries across Canada and the United States. Her illustrations have appeared on greeting cards and in _Chirp_, _American Girl_, _Teen_ and _Today's Parent_ magazines, among other places. Lori has illustrated several picture books including _Count Your Chickens_ by Jo Ellen Bogart, _Run Salmon Run_ by Bobs & LoLo and _My Canada_ by Katherine Dearlove. She has written and illustrated _The Goodnight Book_ and _The Good Morning Book_. Lori enjoys knitting, drawing and sewing. She lives with her family in Prince Edward Island, along with a growing menagerie of pets -- 3 cats, 2 bunnies, 1 dog and 2 sheep.
