### Author Biography

**Emmanuel Carrère**, novelist, filmmaker, journalist, and biographer, is the award-winning, internationally renowned author of _Yoga_, _97,196 Words_, _The Adversary_, _Lives Other Than My Own_, and _My Life as a Russian Novel_, among other books. He lives in Paris.

**John Lambert** has translated _Monsieur_, _Reticence_, and _Self-Portrait Abroad_ by Jean-Philippe Toussaint, as well as Emmanuel Carrère's _Limonov_, _The Kingdom_, and _97,196 Words_. He lives in South Korea.
