**Caroline Paul** is the author of _The Gutsy Girl: Escapades for Your Life of Epic Adventure_; _You Are Mighty: A Guide to Changing the World_; and _Lost Cat: A True Story of Love, Desperation, and GPS Technology_, as well as the memoir _Fighting Fire_ about becoming one of the first female firefighters in San Francisco, and the novel _East Wind, Rain_. A longtime member of the San Francisco Writers Grotto, she lives in San Francisco.
