### Author Biography

Douglas Florian is a critically acclaimed children's book author / illustrator best known for his poetry collections, including _Dinothesaurus_, a _Kirkus Reviews_ Best Book of the Year and a Junior Library Guild Selection; _Bow Wow Meow Meow_, a _Parents_ Magazine Best Book of the Year; and many more. Florian is also a fine artist whose paintings have been exhibited in numerous art shows, and a former _New Yorker_ cartoonist. He lives in Long Island, New York. Sonia Sánchez is an award-winning illustrator whose debut picture book, _Here I Am_, written by Patti Kim, received numerous starred reviews and earned her a nomination for an Eisner Award in the category of Best Painter.
