### Author Biography

William deBuys is the author of ten books, including _The Last Unicorn_, one of _Christian Science Monitor_'s 10 Best Nonfiction Books of 2015; _River of Traps_, a _New York Times_ Notable Book of the Year and a Pulitzer Prize nonfiction finalist; _The Walk_ (an excerpt of which won a Pushcart Prize in 2008); and _A Great Aridness_. In 2008-2009 he was a Guggenheim Fellow. He lives in New Mexico.
