**JANE WERNER WATSON** (1915-2004) was the original editor of Little Golden Books, and the author of numerous Golden Books herself, many of which were illustrated by the great children's illustrators of the mid-twentieth century. Some of her bestselling titles include _The Fuzzy Duckling_ (illustrated by Martin and Alice Provensen), _Animal Friends_ (illustrated by Garth Williams), and _My Little Golden Book About God, The Christmas Story, and Wonders of Nature_ (all illustrated by Eloise Wilkins)_._

**JERRY SMATH** illustrated his first Little Golden Book back in the early 1960s. More recently, he illustrated the Little Golden Books _Miracles of Jesus, Bible Stories of Boys and Girls,_ and _The Story of Jesus._
