### Author Biography

Joy McCullough writes books and plays from her home in the Seattle area, where she lives with her husband and two children. She is the author of the middle grade novels _Across the Pond_, _A Field Guide to Getting Lost_, _Not Starring Zadie Louise_, _Code Red_, and _Basil & Dahlia_ and the picture books _Harriet's Ruffled Feathers_, _Champ and Major: First Dogs_, and _The Story of a Book_. Devon Holzwarth is an award-winning American children's book illustrator. She grew up in Panama, surrounded by nature, her dad's art supplies, and piles of books.
