**Shannon Hale and Dean Hale** are the award-winning husband-and-wife team behind the Princess in Black series, illustrated by LeUyen Pham. Shannon Hale is also the author of the Newbery Honor Book _Princess Academy_ as well as the _New York Times_ best-selling graphic novels _Real Friends_ and _Best Friends_, illustrated by LeUyen Pham. Shannon Hale and Dean Hale live in Salt Lake City, Utah.

**LeUyen Pham** is the illustrator of the Princess in Black series as well as many other books for children, including _Love Is Powerful_, _Pat-a-Cake_ by Mary Brigid Barrett, _God's Dream_ by Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Douglas Carlton Abrams, _Aunt Mary's Rose_ by Douglas Wood, and _Real Friends_ and _Best Friends_ by Shannon Hale.
