### Author Biography

**Edmund White** is the author of many novels, including _A Boy's Own Story_, _The Beautiful Room Is Empty_, _The Farewell Symphony_, _A Saint from Texas_, and _The Humble Lover_. His nonfiction includes _City Boy_, _Inside a Pearl_, _The Unpunished Vice_, and other memoirs; _The Fl?neur_, about Paris; and literary biographies and essays. He has received the PEN/Saul Bellow Award for Achievement in American Fiction and the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters from the National Book Foundation. He lives in New York.
